Need help with your book?

Are you a female entrepreneur or executive who wants to inspire others and share your knowledge with the world?

You would love to write your own non-fiction or business book, but it just isn’t happening.  You know that a book would enhance your authority and credibility in your field and open up exciting new opportunities for you, as well as enabling you to help others. And yet. Months or even years have gone by since you decided to write a book and it’s still not written.

You feel frustrated at your lack of progress, but also overwhelmed by the task ahead. Is this book ever going to get written, or will you have to endure being questioned about it by loved ones at get-togethers forever? You have realised that you need some help to start moving forward and actually write your book.

This is for you if:

  • You are an entrepreneur or executive who wants to write a non-fiction or a business book.
  • You need help, either from a ghostwriter or book coach to get this book written.
  • You are ready to commit some time and effort to work with me to create a plan and execute it.

How I can help…

If you don’t have the time or confidence in your writing ability, I can write your book for you. As a ghostwriter, I research and write your book, but your name is on the book’s cover. My services cover everything up to a final, draft manuscript, which can then move on to the production phase of the publishing process.

If you want to write your own book, but need a plan, help with structure and some support and accountability, then I can be your book coach. Together, we will break down the overwhelm and create smaller, do-able tasks that get your book written in three to six months. Imagine the satisfaction you would feel, being able to give your loved ones a copy of your book as a gift this year! I know that you absolutely CAN do this and I will help you to make your book happen.

How it works…

Depending on the source matter you have already, I’ll need to have more or less input from you. We would start off by meeting, face-to-face if possible or by video call if not. If there is no source material at all, like podcast transcripts, course or training materials, then we’d need to record 12-16 hours of face to face interviews initially to get started. I would then go off and write a sample chapter and come back to you. We’d discuss it, I’d take feedback on board and then set off on the rest of the book, sending you each draft, completed chapter as we go.

It’s really important to me to get to know my ghostwriting clients well and have a good understanding of your character and most importantly, your voice. I’ll be doing my utmost to write in a way that sounds as close to you as possible! However, I am not you, so you do need to be prepared for that. When you use a ghostwriter like me, you do need to relinquish some control, which I know is not always easy to do. If you are dead set on sounding exactly like yourself, then my book coaching services would be a better fit.

Helen is just great! We have worked together for quite a few years now. She is always willing and supportive, witty and bright, plus very skilled and talented in her work as a wordsmith. I like to keep people like Helen close to me, so feel free to take her on, with the proviso that you leave enough room on her roster for our work, please.

Book Coaching

I love coaching clients and supporting them to write their own books. It gives me great pleasure to help people, particularly female entrepreneurs and executives to share their knowledge and experience. Women are under-represented in publishing business books and that is a real shame, because that means they are not benefiting from the authority and credibility-enhancing power that becoming an author can bring.

If you want to write your own book, but you feel like you don’t know where to start, or perhaps you’ve already started but ground to a halt and can’t get going again – please do get in touch. My Blockbuster coaching package gives you the structure and tools you need to get over the hurdles that are stopping you from writing your brilliant book. As well as helpful email resources, you’ll get a personalised action plan and two monthly video calls with me for support and accountability. Together, we break that mountain facing you down into series of molehills and we get the job done – and well. Let’s get your book written!

Why should you work with me?

My background in PR gives me a great perspective from which to help you to write your longed-for book. Not only am I an Amazon best-selling ghostwriter, but also I have an in-depth understanding of the importance of marketing your book well. Many prospective authors don’t realise that writing a successful book is 50% about the content and 50% about marketing. There’s no point in writing a book if no-one reads it.

Client Testimonials

I am very lucky to have worked with some wonderful clients, who have inspired me and taught me so much! Here are some of the lovely things a few of them have said about me:

Helen’s 1:1 book coaching programme has been the most amazing foundation for me to write my own book.

Jessica Mooney, Bread For Life

Helen has a great command over language, ideas and storytelling.Even when the concepts are complex, she makes things easy to digest – which is crucial in the world of property investment – and she’s a pleasure to work with too.

Anna Clare Harper, UK Residential Property Strategist, Investor, Podcast Host, The Return

Helen helped me to understand book writing and finish a book I’d already started. Making it fun – and never judgmental – she guided me and supported me when I got ‘stuck’ and gave me the confidence to keep going. Not sure I’d have persevered without her!

Bronwen Vearncombe, Property Investing Foundation

Helen is always enthusiastic, easy to work with, and totally understands what her clients need. She’s great!

Charlotte Bayley, Bayleaf Cookery School

Helen is a great writer and a creative marketer.

Valentine Smith, Comesto

Who am I?

The Content Doc is me, Helen Pollock. Here’s a little story about how I came to do what I do:

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was constantly in trouble for reading books. She was so lost in reading that the outside world would cease to exist for her and she couldn’t hear her parents calling her for meals. At school, she loved writing and languages above all else. Many cold dinners later, she was looking at career options.

Having studied a post-graduate qualification in Marketing, she was drawn to Public Relations, because it offered the chance to make a living through writing.

That bookish little girl was me. PR became my career and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

After having my children, I wanted to be in control of my own destiny. As a result, I started my first business, teaching Mandarin to kids. But it didn’t feel natural to me. I missed writing. In 2018 I started my own PR consultancy and soon had the chance to ghostwrite a non-fiction book for a client. I enjoyed it so much and that book became an Amazon best-seller. I had found my calling. I have since ghostwritten more books and helped other aspiring authors to write their own books, through my coaching programme.

It feels amazing to support clients to share their knowledge to help others. It’s a dream come true for me and something that my younger book-loving self could not have imagined.

Any Questions?

Q: How soon will my book be ready?

A: I hate to say it, but that depends! It takes most people three to six months to write a non-fiction book and it’s about the same for me to ghostwrite one. If you already have a lot of your source material ready to go, like podcast transcripts, presentations or course material, then it will be sooner rather than later. We also need to be clear that this is to final, draft manuscript stage, not to a published book. Getting through to the finished, published book will take a while longer and will require the input of other publishing professionals.

Q: How much does it cost to engage the services of a ghostwriter or book coach?

A: You can access my price guide

Q: Do you have to be a great writer to write a book?

A: No, you don’t. It obviously helps, but with skilled support from a book coach and also a good proofreader and editor, you will be able to write a good book that is lively and engaging for your readers.

Q: How will your services save me time?

A: How my ghostwriting services will save you time is obvious. With book coaching, I give you a personalised action plan, which we review every fortnight during our coaching calls. Breaking down writing a book into a series of manageable tasks, I support you and give you accountability, providing useful email resources along the way too. If you’re ever stuck in between coaching calls, then you can get in touch for help.

Q: How will your services save me money?

A: Firstly, by saving your time, the most important commodity you have. Most of my clients are entrepreneurs, so any time that is not well-spent is costing them money. Imagine how many hours you could waste staring at a blank page, not knowing where to start, because you hadn’t created a solid structure and plan for your book with me. My helpful email resources will also enable you to make the right, informed choices about your book, saving you time and money along the way. Plus, with my marketing advice, you’ll be setting your book up to succeed in the marketplace too. All in all, I will simplify the process of writing your book and help you to make it happen. How can you afford not to work with me to write your book?

I want working with me to be totally RISK-FREE for you. I offer a 15-Day Money-Back Guarantee for my book coaching clients, in case you feel the programme’s not right for your needs. So what are you waiting for? I look forward to meeting you!
